Wednesday 26th March, 16.00-17.45 

This event is for teachers and school staff interested in promoting environmental and outdoor learning in schools. We want to support schools to connect young people (and the wider school community!) with the outdoors. Join us for a free relaxing walk in Deptford Creek and some free refreshments! 

This is the first of 3 sessions, where we aim to facilitate a welcoming space for school staff. If you are passionate about the environment and promoting environmental learning in your school please join us! If you have a leadership role for sustainability, outdoor learning, forest school, trips, or any other areas that link with learning outside the classroom this is the event for you. Or if you're a classroom teacher who would like to develop their knowledge and skills in engaging with outdoor learning then come along too! 

In the first session we will explore the river on a short Low Tide Walk, and discuss how organisations like ours can support environmental education in schools, and how to extend the learning journey beyond a 1-day visit.

You can:

  • Meet like minded others from neighbouring local schools
  • Share good practice
  • Discuss outdoor learning with Creekside staff
  • Develop your knowledge of local ecology and history

The content of the next 2 sessions is not fully decided, and we welcome input from attendees - so if you have something you want to learn more about, some good practice you'd like to share with others, or a discussion you'd like to facilitate, please come to this session and speak to Creekside staff to see how this might be possible!
