Saturday September  16th  10.00 - 13.00

Explore local wildlife and landscape creatively. You will be discovering the local wild urban environment on a safari into wild Deptford and then using your first hand experience as inspiration for writing.  As we enter autumn from summer there is much change as most organisms have been through their repoductive cycle and now enter a time of hibernation, dormancy and regrowth.

The workshop will be led by Ruth Bradshaw, a Brockley-based writer, whose work has been published in a variety of websites and journals including Elsewhere and The Clearing. The workshop will include a discussion of urban nature writing and an opportunity to write short pieces inspired by the walk.

Please wear weather suitable clothing as we will be walking for about one and half hour prior to returning to Creekside Discovery Centre for hot drinks and snacks while we gather our thoughts and commit them to paper. We will have additional small breaks during the walk.

Please bring a notebook for the walk and your preferred writing device for the workshop.

Meet at the Creekside Centre

Available for ages 16+
