Creekside is excited to join the London Mountain Film Festival this year!

We'll be rolling out the red carpet to showcase a selection of short movies that will take you from the tidal banks of the Thames away to the remote corners of the world. Join us for a film night that connects wildlife and people in inspiring and adventurous ways!

The first night, our opening story is none other than "Bloomtide", made by Louis Catliff (duration 30'), the heartwarming tale of Seth El-Shaddai and his urban garden nestled in the shadow of Hammersmith Bridge. Picture this: Seth battles the forces of urban development to save his beloved garden. Will his Bloomtide garden bloom or wilt under the pressure of construction plans?

Next up, a selection of inspiring short movies:

"Justice Brothers" - film by Kieran Hodges,  duration 5'
Meet young surfers from Busua, Ghana, who are turning wooden planks into dreams. These people are not just riding the waves but empowering local girls to conquer the ocean's freedom. It's a splash of inspiration you don't want to miss!

"Defensoras" - film by Eilidh Munro, Bethan John, duration 4'
Watch the stories of courageous women who stand up for their rights and make a difference in their communities. Their stories of resilience and empowerment will leave you in awe.

"Lost Winters" - film by Matt Green, duration 12'
A short film on climate change in Scotland through the lens of winter mountaineering and behavioural psychology.

"To Know a Mountain" - film by Emily Baker, Michelle Sanders, duration 16'
A second film set in Scotland, from a diverse group of women inspired by Nan Shepherd and her connections with the Cairngorms.

We wrap up the event with "Finding Freedom - Stories from Refugees Rock" by Dom Bush (duration 23'), a moving film about the Refugees Rock crew on their first walking and rock climbing trip to Snowdonia. Join them as they find freedom and share their incredible stories.

So, mark your calendars, gather your friends, and head to the Creekside Discovery Centre for a cinematic experience like no other.

Tickets for the screening are £5, and we welcome on-the-day donations that contribute directly to the Creekside cause and support local nature conservation and outdoor education.
Places are limited, so book your ticket today.

We will have chairs and some benches, but feel free to bring your own camping chair for extra comfort. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be two comfort breaks.
This event is suitable for children aged 13 and older.

Visit the LMFF website for more information about the festival and to read more about the films we are screening.
