This is the 6th London Rivers Week run annually by Thames 21 celebrating London’s 400 miles of rivers, wetlands and canals. This event champions the river conservation projects that have restored London’s waterways creating more spaces for people and wildlife to enjoy and thrive.
As part of this London celebration we are running two events during 23rd - 31st October. On Wednesday 27th October we have Ship Wrecked! This family event takes place between 10am and 12:30pm where you can build a shelter, forage for wild food and toast marshmallows! For older young people and adults we are running Creek Know How on Saturday 30th October between 10am and 3pm - a one day free tidal river safety course in the Creek suitable for 14 year olds upwards.
These events are part of the legacy partnership we have with Tideway, London, the Super Sewer builders. Tideway is helping local groups and charities along the course of the Thames as they tunnel underground to improve the lives of millions of Londoners, to continue to offer access and activities to local people while maintaining the wonderful nature and wildlife that depends upon the river.
Both events promise adventure and discovery!
